6th Annual Fall Doubles League to Start

Get ready for our 6th annual Fall Doubles League!  Our first shoot will be Saturday, August 27–getting a little earlier start than the previous years.  Signups will start at 11:00 a.m., with shooting at noon.   There are a total of eight shoots, however, the dates are not consecutive Saturdays so please note the dates listed below.  Also, remember that you can double up and be finished in four shoots if you can’t make all the dates.

NEWMAN SILVER & GOLD ATA SHOOT

Newman to Host Northern Zone ATA Shoot

The CGSTA Northern Zone ATA shoot will be held June 11 & 12, 2016 (see program attached below for complete details).  On Sunday, this shoot is to qualify for a Zone Team to compete against the Central Zone and Southern Zone teams to run concurrently in the 200 Singles Championship at the State Shoot in Kingsburg on Saturday, June 25, 2016.  This shoot is open to all ATA registered shoots, however, you must be a resident in the Northern Zone counties to qualify for a spot on one of the Zone Teams.

Newman Trap League Final Shoot Results

Newman Trap League held its final shoot April 24, 2016. Great Day, great BBQ and great camaraderie!! The weather seemed to play a role in the scores with wind, clouds and the sun peeking in and out. High Team was Alquist Arms with a 544; HOA for the day was Kyle Bartholomew with a 118; high handicap score was 45–Kyle Bartholomew, Richard Alquist and Weston Freitas; and Kyle came in with the high doubles score of 49. Scores of 45 and 44 earned yardage today.

Newman 1 claimed the HOA Champion team title after going into a shoot-off with a score of 107 over Alquist Arms’s 106–both teams final score after eight shoots was 4278. Alquist Arms claimed Division 1 Champion. Division 1 Runner-Up team was Newman It’s a Trap (4133).

NEWMAN TRAP LEAGUE 7th SHOOT RESULTS

The Newman Trap League held shoot #7 on April 3, 2016.  The weather was great with a little breeze with shooters posting some good scores.  The high team was Alquist Arms with a 555.  High Over All honors was shared by Dan Souza (Newman-It’s a Trap), David Bennett (Chowchilla Sportsmen) and Louis Kingston (Taylor Backhoe) with scores of 118. Souza also the posted high handicap of 47 along with James Houser (Newman-It’s a Trap) and Richard Alquist (Alquist Arms).  David Bennett, Kyle Bartholomew (Alquist Arms) and Louis Kingston all posted 48’s in the doubles.  Complete results and division standings are posted below in pdf format.

Newman Trap League Shoots 5 & 6 Double Header

The Newman Trap League held shoots 5 & 6 on March 6, 2016.  The weather was a little unstable at times, with a little wind picking up in the afternoon along with a nice, but brief downpour of rain.  The high team in shoot #5 was Alquist Arms with a 531.  High Over All honors went to James Houser (Newman-It’s a Trap) who posted a 118.  Houser also the posted high handicap (47) and high doubles (49) scores as well.

In shoot #6, Newman-It’s a Trap was high team posting a 542.  Junior shooter Weston Freitas (Newman Jr Sharpshooters) came in with the high handicap score of 48, with Randy McGee (Alquist Arms) posting the high doubles score of 49, and high over all honors going to Art Machado (Newman 1) with a 117.  All scores and division standings can be seen in the pdf files  below.

Newman Trap League Double Header & Division Splits Determined

The Newman Trap League completed its third and fourth shoots Sunday, February 21st in a double header.  All in all, it was a nice day, with the wind picking up somewhat in the afternoon.

In Shoot #3, Richard Alquist (Alquist Arms) was high with a 119–good shooting Richard!  High team was Alquist Arms with a 544.  Dan Souza (Newman It’s a Trap) and Richard Alquist both posted the high handicap score of 49.  See Shoot #3 complete results below in pdf format.  In Shoot #4, Newman 1 was high team with a 532; Kyle Bartholomew (Alquist Arms) posted the high overall score of 115; and Matt Rainwater (Newman It’s a Trap) along with Randy McGee (Alquist Arms) both posting 47’s for high in handicap. With the completion of the fourth shoot, the division splits have been determined and can be seen in the NTL Division Standings posted below as well.  The next shoot scheduled for March 6 will also be a double header for Shoots 5 and 6.

Newman to Host South Bay Trap League

Newman will be hosting the first South Bay Trap League shoot for the 2016 season this Saturday, February 6th.  Registration commences at 9:00 a.m., with shooting at 10:00 a.m.   Come out and shoot and have fun.  More information can be obtained from the South Bay Trap League website.
